Recent changes to Yahoo! instant messenger servers has caused inaccessibility to the service for Easy Message users. A fix for the problem is currently being investigated.
Last night the MSN Messenger instant messaging servers were updated resulting in Easy Message users being blocked.
Easy Message has been updated to version 2.3.642 which fixes the MSN connection problem.
The new build is available at download.com
The server address used for instant messaging on the Yahoo network has changed resulting in Easy Message users not being able to connect. To fix this problem you will need to change the server address for each Yahoo account to "scs.msg.yahoo.com" instead of "scs.yahoo.com".
Service to instant messaging on the MSN network using Easy Message was not interupted as Microsofts October 15th dealine to restrict third party access passes.
The Yahoo service in Easy Message is now back online. Easy Message was updated today to version 2.3.640 supporting Yahoo Messenger's new password authentication process.
The new process includes multiple layers of hashing, (not necessarily more secure), including MD5, HMAC-SHA1, and some of what looks like Yahoo's own encoding.
Yahoo support is currently down. A fix is currently being created and will be updated ASAP.
Build 638 of Easy Message 2.3 was released today to support version 10 of the Yahoo! protocol.
Yahoo announced today that they will only support this newer protocol after September 24, 2003. All older Yahoo! Messengers including Easy Message 2.3.637 and below will not be able to connect to the the Yahoo! service after this date.
Version 2.3 was released today in order to support the security upgrade to the MSN protocol. The upgrade uses SSL, a more secure and widely accepted password authorization method than the previous MD5 hash, through its passport service.
Microsoft has announced that they will only support this newer protocol after October 15, 2003. All older MSN Messengers and third party messengers including Easy Message 2.2 and below will not be able to connect to the MSN messenger service after this date.
